Lambton Branch is one of 29 Branches of Ontario Ancestors (formerly known as Ontario Genealogical Society – OGS).
The Lambton County Branch is a non-profit organization of people sharing an interest in family history and genealogy. The branch was organized in 1984. “Encourage, assist and bring together all those interested in the pursuit of family history in Lambton County Ontario”
During Covid-19 all meetings 2022 will be online only in summer 2022 we be having an open class or question and answer.

Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, excluding July & August at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at 7.00 pm. 1400 Murphy Rd., Sarnia. There is a Family History Centre located at this church. Occasionally meetings are held at various locations in the county. All interested persons are invited to attend. To be a member of the Lambton branch, you must first be a member of the Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS). The 2023 Membership fee for OGS is $63.00, and the Membership fee for the Lambton Branch is an additional $15.00 per year. Join the OGS Community

Our Member’s Resource site ( known as members only ) is filled with many indexes, books, All Newsletters from 2006 till the present, & collections you can only find in the Lambton Archives Lambton files. Members are willing to help members and discounted costs in research from afar. No fee for going to the Lambton Archives.

Lambton Lifeline, our quarterly publication, is sent to all members. It includes Queries (an announcement of a request for information) free Queries, research information, family history articles, library additions, upcoming events of genealogical interest, and our meetings.
Our research team answers research requests for members and non-members. A minimum fee of $40.00 for non-members must accompany the request for research. A minimum fee for members once a year is $15.00 pre-hour, and you get one hour free. We can also electronically search our new digitized search requests for complete details. The branch uses PayPal online, letting research or purchases be made more timely. Branch members have a discounted price formation for a small fee Click on Research requests for complete details.
Branch Cemetery indexes are in the Lambton Name Search. Indexes have been moved to the Ontario Genealogical Society site. They can now be found in the TONI index. Full details are in the published transcriptions and can be purchased at the cemetery pages, with digital copies to be bought through the OGS E-Store. Single sheets can be ordered on this website (the drop-down arrow) will let you add more than one page. All Lambton cemeteries are accessible to members in the members-only site.
Paper Copies of the Lambton branch publications and its other holdings and genealogical research material are housed in the Lambton County Archives (Formal Name Change: Lambton Room to Lambton County Archives) at the Lambton County Library Headquarters, 789 Broadway St., Wyoming Ontario. Archive HOURS: Wed to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm, Thursday to 8 pm and Saturday from 10 to 4 pm. CLOSED HOLIDAY WEEKENDS.
