Greg Stott Webinar

” The Complexities of Settling North Lambton- Arkona, Port Franks, and Widder”

Greg Stott was raised at the family home south of Arkona, Ontario, before leaving to attend the University of Western Ontario in London, where he majored in History, graduating with his BA and MA in 1998 and 1999 respectively. He continued his studies at the doctoral level at McMaster University in Hamilton and 2004, completed his Ph.D. in Canadian History with minor fields in British and United States History. He has published various works of family and local history, including self-published works on Port Franks, Arkona, Widder-Pine Hill, North Ekfrid, and Rock Glen, and contributed articles to various scholarly journals such as Urban History Review, Ontario History, and The Journal of Family History. He taught at various institutions in Ontario and British Columbia before starting a permanent position at the University College of the North in  Thompson, Manitoba, in 2010, where he is an associate professor. While he enjoys his winters in the midst of the boreal Forest, he spends most of the summer at the family cottage at Port Franks, Ontario.
