The Lambton County Branch is a non-profit organization of people sharing an interest in family history and genealogy. It was organized in 1984.

Our  MEETINGS are usually held the 2nd Tuesday of each month excluding Dec., July & August at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1400 Murphy Rd., Sarnia. There is a Family History Centre located at this church. Occasionally meetings are held at various locations in the county. All interested persons are invited to attend. To be a member of the Lambton branch you must first be a member of the Ontario Genealogical  Society (OGS). The 2019 Membership fee for OGS is $63.00 (subject to change Nov.1, 2019), and the Membership fee for the Lambton Branch is an additional $12.00 per year.Join the OGS Community

Lambton Lifeline, our quarterly publication, is sent to all members. It includes Queries (an announcement of request for information)2 free Queries each year, research information, family history articles, library additions, upcoming events of genealogical interest and our meetings.

The society helps its nearly 230 members and many others whose roots are in Lambton County locate early data and sometimes relatives.
Research requests  for members and non-members are answered by our research team. A minimum fee of $40.00 for non-members must accompany request for research. A minimum fee for members once a year is $15.00 pre-hour and you get one hour free   We can also electronically search our new digitized information for a small fee $5.00. Click on Research requests for full details. The branch now has PayPal online this method will let research or purchases be done in a more timely manner. branch members have a discounted price

Branch Cemetery indexes are in the Lambton Name Search. Indexes have been moved to the Ontario Genealogical Society site. They now can be found with in the TONI index.   Full details are in the published transcriptions and can  be purchase on the Cemeteries pages, Paper copies and digital to be bought thought the OGS E-Store. Single pages can be order on this web site (drop down arrow will let you add more then one page.

Copies of the Lambton branch publications along with its other holdings and genealogical research material are housed in the Lambton County Archives (Formal Name Change: Lambton Room to Lambton County Archives) at the Lambton County Library Headquarters, 789 Broadway St., Wyoming Ontario. Exit 25 (South) from Highway 402. NEW Phone 519-845-5426 use the toll free number 1-866-324-6912 to avoid charges.
HOURS: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm Tuesday and Thursday 6pm to 9pm and Saturday 12 to 5pm. CLOSED HOLIDAY WEEKENDS.

Lambton County Heritage Museum   Located on Highway 21 south of Grand Bend.

Moore Township Museum   Located at 94 Moore Line Mooretown, Ontario, Canada N0N 1M0 Just 25 minutes south of Sarnia, Ontario. From highway 402 take highway 40 south to Moore Line. Turn right on Moore line and travel 4 km ( 3 miles) into Mooretown. From the south, follow the St. Clair Parkway north to Moore Line in Mooretown.  Turn right and follow Moore Line for 2 blocks. Both of these museums have local historical information.
